Caddies/Transportation

Automotive transportation and caddies are prohibited.  Pull carts are permitted.

Competition

The tournament will be 36 holes stoke play conducted as follows.  All competitors regardless of age will play the first 18 holes.  The low 24 and ties and those within 8 strokes of the leading score will play a second 18 holes the following day.  The Champion will be the low gross 36 hole score in the field.  In addition, the winner of each age category will be determined by the low gross 18 hole score of the first round.  In the event of a tie for the Championship or the winner of any age category, there will be a sudden death play-off at the conclusion of play on the appropriate day.  A tie for any other silver prize shall be resolved by the USGA recommended method outlined in Appendix I.

Eligibility & Field

 ELIGIBILITY:

 

This tournament is open to male amateurs who are residents of Maryland or are members of member clubs of the MSGA.  Each entrant must have reached 12 years of age but not 19 years of age by midnight of June 29, 2009, except that a player must not be attending college or technical school.  Each contestant must also have an up-to-date USGA index at a licensed club of 18.0 or lower as of May 1, 2009.  The Handicap Index must be current on the date of the event and must be viewable on the verification site of www.msga.org.  Entries are subject to rejection by the MSGA at any time, including during the competition.  The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct or failure to comply with the requirements of the handicap system.

Lunch

Lunch will be provided to all players at no cost.

Prizes

Appropriate prizes will be awarded to the winner, runner-up, and other top finishers.
