Competition

COMPETITION:  The tournament will be conducted at 36 holes stroke play, with the field being reduced to the low 60 scores and ties after the first round.  In the event of a tie for the Championship, there will be a sudden death play-off at the conclusion of play.  A tie for any other silver prize shall be resolved by the USGA recommended method outlined in Appendix I.

Eligibility & Field

 

ELIGIBILITY: 

This tournament is open to male amateurs who have reached their 30th birthday by midnight of August 18, 2008 and are members of member clubs of the Maryland State Golf Association with an up-to-date USGA Index at a licensed club of 5.4 or less as of July 1, 2008.  The handicap index must be at the member club shown on the entry form, must be current on the date of the event, and must be viewable on the verification site of www.msga.org.  Entries are subject to rejection by the MSGA at any time, including during the competition.  The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct or failure to comply with the requirements of the handicap system. 

 

 

FIELD:  The field will be limited to the 150 players having the lowest indexes among entries received on a timely basis, with the stipulation that the field will also include the defending champion if still eligible and entry fee/application received on a timely basis.   

Food & Beverage Food & beverage must be paid for or charged back to players home Club.
Motorized Golf Carts

The entry fee includes cart and range balls for the first round.  Players making the cut will be required to pay the golf shop for a cart for the second rould.

Prizes
